Wind Off the Sharp Flats
A young, quiet, rather unexperienced elf
Falia is the daughter of a retired elven ranger. Her father spent many years wandering the forests of her home, as well as the Mountains of the Moon in his younger days. He preferred to wander on his own and was not much of an adventurer, but he rarely refused a request for help. Falia always loved the tales her father told and, to her mother’s disappointment, was determined to follow in his footsteps. She learned the basics of archery from her father, but she soon found the art of sword fighting much more to her taste. While she has the same quiet, curious demeanor of her mother, she also possesses an adventurous, impulsive attitude that goes far beyond that of her fathers. She was mentored for many years, and over the years journeyed far into both the forests of home, and the Mountains of the Moon, helping others traverse them.
One evening she and Ahkash, her younger brother, were passing the field of a small farm when it was raided by goblins. Having been on a peaceful travel she found herself armed with only a small dagger, and she quickly grabbed a forgotten sickle. Yet in her moment of distraction she found herself separated from Ahkash by what seemed to be a growing sea of goblins. In a blur of fear and anger she found herself in the midst of chaos, goblins fleeing and falling around her as she fought her way desperately towards where her brother had been not even noticing the other young man whose adversary was now lying dead by a blow from the sickle. She remembers little of it, only the cold, limp body of her brother, the easy, swift feel of the sickle in her hand, and the burning pain and anger related to goblins. It was soon after this she began her travels through the Mountains of the Moon, where she learned to calm and control her hatred for the beings that were responsible for her brothers death.
While content with her work, she was always very curious of the outside world. When Baron Sharz approached her and asked for her help, Falia, though knowing she ventured into a world she knew nothing about, accepted without thought, the words of her father echoing in her mind, “Never hold back when you may help, never go forth if you may hurt.”
Lamar is her closest friend. She will protect him with her life, against any who threaten him, be they “friend”, or foe.
